Description

As a Chaplain and second-wave Positive Psychology Practitioner with Adaptive Grief Tapping (AGT)™, I lead Focused Pathways® with a deep commitment to the virtue of humanity. This virtue—centered on nurturing interpersonal relationships and fostering empathy—guides my intuitive approach to supporting others. My work focuses on helping professionals and aspiring helping professionals, because I believe that those who support others deserve to feel safely supported themselves.

My journey to this work began with profound loss. After returning home from fighting the war on terror in Iraq, I lost several friends to suicide. From my best friend in high school, to a friend and a beloved associate pastor—their unrecoverable loss of meaning and life affected me. This experience was compounded by witnessing the lack of support available during my time serving as both a church pastor and a military chaplain over the last 5 years. These moments illuminated the gaps in care for those who dedicate their lives to serving others, inspiring my mission to create spaces where caregivers, service members, and professionals can find the understanding and support they need.

My approach is further enriched by my signature strengths—Spirituality, Love of Learning, Honesty, Judgment, and Fairness—which uniquely shape the client experience:

  1. Spirituality: Naturally integrated into our work, my spiritual insights help clients explore their beliefs and find deeper meaning in their challenges, fostering a sense of clarity and purpose.

  2. Love of Learning: Clients benefit from my dedication to staying informed with the latest psychological and spiritual insights, ensuring tailored, evidence-based strategies in every session.

  3. Honesty: I provide open and authentic communication, creating a trusting environment where clients feel safe to grow and reflect.

  4. Judgment: By thoughtfully considering all aspects of a situation, I help clients navigate choices and align their decisions with personal values.

  5. Fairness: Every client is treated with equal respect and care, creating an inclusive and supportive space where all individuals feel valued.

At Focused Pathways®, I offer a holistic and balanced approach to wellness, thoughtfully addressing both emotional and spiritual needs with practical solutions and compassionate understanding. This is a trusted space designed for caregivers and helpers to renew their strength, reconnect with their faith, and navigate the challenges of grief, burnout, or a loss of purpose and meaning in life.
